WELCOME! The Chairville School Media Center is a very important place in our school. Students visit the Media Center for reading and research. We have a large collection of books, magazines and videos that support the school curriculum. Students are welcome to visit the Media Center at any time of the day. Each class also has a scheduled time weekly for book selection. The library is staffed by Mrs. Pugh, Media Specialist, and assistant Mrs. Kaminski. We are also fortunate to have many parent volunteers who are instrumental to the success of our library. INSTRUCTION: Students in each grade level receive lessons in Information Literacy. Kindergarten and First Grade students enjoy coming to the Media Center weekly for story time. Students participate in author and genre studies, learn about Caldecott winning books, and have a great time listening to different types of literature! Upper grade students are instructed in use of databases, online encyclopedias, reference materials and other types of media to learn how to best retrieve information.
