Hey! Who left this track on my computer? It wasn't here the last time I was in computers! Someone or something must have been here on MY computer! I wonder what it is.........?

Who or what has been using your computer? Wait...there are
clues that you can see
. There are paw prints everywhere!
Using what you will learn about the different animal tracks you will solve the
mystery of who was at your computer.
Animals use their feet for many different tasks. Their tracks help us discover exactly how to identify them. You will research animal tracks, discover what animal left its track on your computer.

1. Let's look at a familiar animal print:

Who/What has been here? How many were here?
Were they all going in the same direction?
What might be going on?
2. Now, let's really put you to a test! What animal do you think made each set of prints? Animal Tracks.
3. Now go and click on the prints and then check your answer here.
4. Next, use the resources below to find and draw the tracks of the following animals. Record your drawings in KidPix!
Racoon, dog, skunk, whitetail deer, gray squirrel, human, beetle, and duck.
5. Now, use these same resources below to help you figure out the animal print on your computer. When you think you have figured it out, give your answer to your teacher. If you are wrong you will need to go back and figure it out again.

You are now an official animal tracker! In the stories you are reading in class, naturalists showed you how to track wild animals by looking for the signs they leave behind. You studied the signs left by all types of animals, you read about the prints of animals, and your even tested yourself in a challenge!
As an amateur tracker, you are encouraged to look for signs of animal life near your home.
Now, go out and track the critters in your neighborhood!
